Celebrating research in vasculitis and honouring the memory of Prof Paul Bacon.
Background
The Paul Bacon Award was introduced in 2018 in memory of Prof Paul Bacon, who was Emeritus Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Birmingham.
He was a pioneer in the field of vasculitis, and most British rheumatologists practicing as vasculitis physicians were trained by him or his trainees.
After his death, the convenors of the vasculitis special interest group created a prize in his memory celebrating research in vasculitis and keeping his memory alive for all clinicians interested in the subject.

Opportunity to present abstract at Annual Conference
Entry criteria
Who can apply?
You must be:
A conference delegate
A member
Someone who has submitted an abstract to Annual Conference under the vasculitis topic
NB: if you have won an award in the last five years, you will not be eligible to enter this award again until the five-year period has passed
How to apply
You must submit:
An Annual Conference abstract through the abstract submission site, under the topic of vasculitis
Judging criteria
Submissions will be reviewed based on:
Originality of work
Demonstration of innovation
Quality of written content
