Overview

Celebrating research in vasculitis and honouring the memory of Prof Paul Bacon.

Background
The Paul Bacon Award was introduced in 2018 in memory of Prof Paul Bacon, who was Emeritus Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Birmingham.

He was a pioneer in the field of vasculitis, and most British rheumatologists practicing as vasculitis physicians were trained by him or his trainees.

After his death, the convenors of the vasculitis special interest group created a prize in his memory celebrating research in vasculitis and keeping his memory alive for all clinicians interested in the subject.
