Overview
BSR in collaboration with the RCN Rheumatology Nurse Forum have published job planning guidance for specialists nurses to enable greater consistency in job planning, and help departments make the best use of staff resources to benefit patient care.
The need for this document arose out of concern that job planning within the profession was inconsistent and often failed to recognise much of the work of specialist rheumatology nurses, such as advice lines and clinical admin, or to allow sufficient time for professional development activities. Effective job planning is a combination of time management, clinical planning, delegation and research, all-encompassing the RCN Four Pillars of Advance Clinical Practice.
