24 May 2022

The Advisory Committee for the Clinical Impact Awards (previously known as the Clinical Excellence Awards) have announced a reformed scheme for the 2022 round. The award round opened on 27 April and will close on 22 June.

The scheme is for England and Wales only, and rewards NHS consultants and academic GPs who deliver above and beyond the standard expected of their roles.

Applying for BSR support

BSR is a national nominating organisation and will be supporting applicants, as we have done in previous years. This is a very competitive process and there is a limit on the number of applications that we can support – this year, we can submit a list of only EIGHT applicants.

If you would like to be considered for support, please complete the following application forms and submit to awards@rheumatology.org.uk by 5pm on Friday 27 May.

Guidance for applications

Any forms received after 27 May will not be considered, requests for extensions to deadlines will not be granted. For further information about the awards view the ACCEA guidance for applicants

Key dates
The BSR support scheme is open until 5pm on Friday 27 May.

Applicants will be notified via email by Friday 10 June as to whether BSR is able to support their application for the 2022 round. Applicants will be asked to confirm that they would like to proceed with BSR support by Monday 13 June.

Please note that there is often fierce competition for the awards and BSR can only offer support to a limited number of applicants. If we are unable to support your application, alternative support is available from organisations such as the Royal College of Physicians via a similar process. Note that you can approach more than one nominating body at the same time but may only submit your final application with the support of one nomination body.
