Rheumatology Advances in Practice (RAP), our open access journal, is growing its Associate Editor team.
What do Associate Editors do?
Associate Editors are central to the journal’s continued development, and are responsible for:
- managing the manuscript peer review process, including inviting relevant peer reviewers;
- using peer review comments and their own judgement to make recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief;
- helping to ensure the acceptance of high-quality manuscripts in line with the journal’s aims and scope;
- helping to define the journal’s strategic direction by contributing to Associate Editor and Editorial Board meetings.
We estimate that the time commitment for this role is 1-2 hours per week. The term of appointment is three years and may be extended by mutual agreement. Training is provided.
What expertise are you looking for?
We are looking for Associate Editors with expertise in one or more of the following research areas:
- Artificial intelligence
- Epidemiology
- Myositis
- Osteoarthritis
- Paediatric and adolescent rheumatology
- Physiotherapy and exercise
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Spondyloarthropathies
- Systemic sclerosis
- Vasculitis
- General clinical rheumatology*
*We are also looking for Case Report Associate Editors to join our team. Case Report Associate Editors will handle short clinical articles (case reports and clinical vignettes) covering a broad spectrum of diseases. This role would suit a clinical rheumatologist with excellent working knowledge of a wide range of rheumatic diseases and some previous peer review experience.
