Who is the Peer Review Masterclass for?
The course is for everyone with an interest in peer reviewing scientific papers, whether you’d like to begin reviewing for academic journals, or are looking to improve your existing skills. Likewise, if you’re an academic supervisor wanting to give junior colleagues some peer review training, why not start with our masterclass?
What does the Peer Review Masterclass cover?
The Peer Review Masterclass aims to provide a clear and comprehensive overview of all-things peer review. Our five modules cover:
- An introduction to peer review, including perspectives from our journal Editors.
- Ethics, disclosures and consent, including best practice for peer reviewers.
- How to use reporting guidelines to frame your review, with a worked example from Dr James Galloway.
- Critical analysis of results, including a handy checklist.
- Writing your review, with lots of tips on review structure and phrasing feedback constructively.
Each module comes with plenty of extra resources, including exclusive cheat sheets for you to save and refer to at any time.
How will I be learning?
The course used a mixed learning approach, comprised of videos, knowledge checks, and practical tasks.
