If you’re passionate about championing the specialty, influencing change and building a thriving community of best practice, then we’re sure there’s a role for you this upcoming election round. We’re looking for BSR members working within a rheumatology multidisciplinary team in paediatric, adolescent or adult services across the UK to stand for election this November. You can nominate yourself for roles on our:

  • Board of Trustees
  • MDT Advisory Council
  • Clinical Affairs Committee
  • Education Committee
  • Heberden Committee
  • Registers and Research Committee
  • Trainee’s Committee

Nominations will open on 5 November 2024 and will close at 5pm on 19 November 2024. Details of individual roles, how to apply and the election process can be found on our elections page.

Keen to find out more? We’ll be hosting free drop-in sessions so you can chat to our team about what each role involves, how much time you will need to give and any other questions you may have.

Successful candidates will be notified in January 2025 and will take up post officially at the end of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 26 June 2025.

"Please do consider putting yourself forward for election. There are a range of vacancies this election round and we really want to have representation, as far as possible, from all 4 nations, from the length and breadth of the UK, from the whole MDT and covering the whole life course”. Jo Ledingham, President

Our members are a huge asset to the organisation and to rheumatology, and we are committed to encouraging inclusion, equality and diversity. We are actively trying to increase the diversity of our staff team and volunteer roles by reducing as many barriers as we can, which you can find out more about here.

We welcome approaches from individuals from underrepresented groups, including those from minoritised communities, and those with a disability, to better reflect the community we serve and help broaden our perspectives.
